The Higher Education Loan Board (HESLB) has announced the guidelines for issuing loans and subsidies for the 2019/2020 academic year as preparation for a loan application for next year 2019/2020.

HESLB intends to start receiving high school credit applications for the 2019/2020 academic year from June 15, 2019 to August 15, 2019, having set aside two weeks to allow prospective credit applicants to carefully study the manual and prepare for credit  .

In addition, HESLB reminds students who are expecting to apply for a first degree of credit to consider the following factors:

1. Have copies of the following certificates certified by Advocate, Judge:
 a.  Form Four Certificate;
 b.  Sixth Form Certificate;
 c.  Diploma Certificate;
 d.  Birth certificate
 e.  The death of the parent or parents.

Certificates of  (d and e) have been verified by the Registration, Insolvency and Trusteeship Agency (RITA) or Social Welfare Registration Agency in Zanzibar.

2. In addition, learners with disabilities or parents with disabilities should have a letter confirming the disability from the Regional Physician, District or Government Health Center;

3. Students who have received their studies at Secondary or Diploma level have a confirmation letter from the institutions that financed their studies;

4. All credit applicants are reminded to read the 2019/2020 and read it carefully.
