Iringa Water Supply and Sanitation Authority (IRUWASA) is a Government Institution which has the duty of providing potable water and sanitation services at affordable prices to the residents of Iringa Municipality for enhancing their health and quality of life. In order to achieve the compact objectives, IRUWASA now seeks applications from suitably qualified Tanzanians who are self-motivated, hardworking, honest and committed to their work to fill the following positions below:-
Position: ASSISTANT TECHNICIAN GRADE II (PLUMBER) – (1 POST)
The successful candidate will report to Water Supply Network Engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities
Repairs all water leakages as detected.Installs customers’ water meters.Participates in rehabilitations of water supply structures.Monitors and reports unauthorized water connections.Reports water losses, distribution faults and takes immediate measures to resolve the problems.Carries out water disconnections of debtors and re-connections after payments.Maintains proper records of water connections/ disconnections and reconnections carried out.Prepares appropriate tools and materials required for execution of repairs/or new connections.Ensures all pipes installations, repairs and maintenances are properly aligned.Ensures all water pipe bursts are properly repaired.Reports sewerage pipe faults to responsible officers.Prepares weekly and monthly reports.Performs other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Academic Qualifications and Age Limit Holder of Form Four/Six Certificate with Trade Test/CBeT Grade ll/Level 11/ NVA/VCII in Plumbing from a recognized learning Institution. Position: ASSISTANT TECHNICIAN GRADE II (PUMP OPERATORS) (2 POSTS)
The successful candidate will report to Water Production, Maintenance and Repair Engineer.
Duties and Responsibilities
To operate water pumps according to agreed schedules.To monitor water levels in the storage water reservoirs.To make and maintain housekeeping of water pumps, pump houses and their surroundings.To maintain and keep proper records and reports of pumps performances, faulty water pumps and breakdowns, electric power failures, and the amount of pumped water at established time intervals from clean water storage reservoirs.To ensure that the required dosage of water treatment chemicals/reagents is administered according to the required standards.To take meter readings of electricity and water consumptions at established time intervals.To ensure cleanliness of water pumps, booster stations and water reservoirs.To record pressure gauges performances at established intervals.To make proper reporting on water colour changes.To perform other related duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.

-Holder of Form Four/Six Certificate with Trade Test/CBeT Grade ll/Level 11/ NVA/VCII in Electrical, Pump Mechanics and Fitter Mechanics or Plumbing from a recognized learning Institution.

Position: ASSISTANT GEOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION SYSTEM (GIS) OFFICER – (1 POST)
The successful candidate will report to the Planning, Construction and Asset Management Engineer
Duties and Responsibilities
To assist in capturing, analysis and conversion of GIS data in different formats using GPS, Electronic Data Recorders, Digitisers and other means.
To carry out cataloguing and inventory of GIS Data, including meta data creation.
-To input, update and maintain GIS databases, including backup and also maintaining linkages to other databases.
To participate in creating map layout, view and generate IRUWASA’s current and planned pipe layout and meter maping.
-To assist in the design, development, implementation and maintenance of the IRUWASA’s GIS.
-To perform spatial data conversion processes (imports/ export routines) to determinate map data and improve map data quality and content.
To provide advice to customers, (staff, Government agencies, water utilities, contractors) on aspects of the geospatial data and services.
-To assist in managing the integrity and security of geospatial database to ensure the requirement of client continue to be made.
To assist in training staff in the use of geospatial sytem and promote its application.
To assist in monitoring of geospatial system to ensure its operate as per the specification timely manner.
To carry out survey and create IRUWASA map use of GIS
-To carry out diagnosis and troubleshooting problems, experienced with the use of GIS and related software.
-To carry out other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Academic Qualifications and Age Limit
-Holder of Ordinary Diploma in Geographic Information Systems, Geomatics, Geoinformatics, Land Surveying, GIS and Remote Sensing, Land Information Systems from a recognized Institution.
-Knowledge and experience in using GIS maping Hardware and Software
component including either GPS or ArcGIS is an added advantage.
-Age Limit between 20 and 35 years.

The successful candidate will report to the Senior Procurement and Supplies Officer Duties and Responsibilities
To assist in responding to timely and correctly audit queries relating to procurements and supplies.To prepare a List or Register of all contract awarded.To update the inventory of goods, supplies, and materials.To assist in the preparation of tender documents.To manage stores documentation with accurate records placed in the proper files.To assist in the supervision of stock-taking.To prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual stores reports.To assist in the identification of usable, disposable and obsolete items.To carry out other duties as may be assigned by the Supervisor.
Academic Qualifications and Age Limit
A holder of Ordinary Diploma in Procurement and Materials Management, Procurement and Supplies Management, Procurement and Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistic Management from a recognized Institution.Must be registered by PSPTB.Computer literacy will be an added advantage.Age Limit between 20 and 35 years.
